Who can use Camena

You need to be at least 13 to create a Camena account, and if you’re under 18 you need a parent or guardian’s permission. You can answer an invite without an account. If you use Camena for a business or organization, you’re agreeing to these terms on its behalf.

Your account

Give us accurate information, keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has gotten into your account. You’re responsible for what happens in your account. Some accounts (Letters creators and admins) must use two-step sign-in.

Hosting with Camena Invites

• Only add guests you know and who would expect to hear from you about the event. Don’t use Invites to send unwanted or bulk messages.
• When you ask Camena to email your guests, the emails go out on your behalf, with an unsubscribe link we include.
• You’re responsible for your event and what you write about it, including addresses, directions, questions and posts.
• You can delete posts on your event’s message board and turn the board off.

Answering an invite

Your answer, note and any posts go to the host and, where the event shows them, to other guests who are coming. Keep what you post kind and relevant to the event. The host may remove posts.

Chip-ins and payments between people

Camena never handles money between hosts and guests. A chip-in shows how much the host is asking and links to the host’s own payment app (such as Venmo, Cash App or Zelle). Any payment is between you and the host, under that payment app’s terms. “I’ve paid” and “paid” marks are notes, not proof of payment, and we can’t refund or recover money sent.

Buying Premium

Polls and basic invites are free. Premium is a one-time payment for one event, priced by the size of your guest list and shown before you pay; it isn’t a subscription. It includes the Premium designs and extras described on our pricing page, for that event. Basic, offered when a free invite fills up, works the same way.

Checkout is run by Link, Stripe’s checkout service, which sells Premium on our behalf: it takes the payment, collects any sales tax (included in the price you see) and emails your receipt. Your statement will show the charge as LINK.COM* followed by Camena. Link’s own terms apply to the payment.

Refunds: if you change your mind, you can have a full refund within 14 days of paying, as long as no guests have RSVP’d yet. Email help@withcamena.com. After that, write to us anyway and we’ll look at it case by case. If something you paid for didn’t work, we’ll make it right. You can also ask Link’s support for help with a payment.

Gift lists, ideas and shopping links

Gift lists and ideas link to other stores. Purchases happen on those stores’ sites, under their terms; prices and availability can change, and we aren’t responsible for the products or the stores. Some links are affiliate links that may earn Camena a commission, at no cost to you. Weather forecasts and directions come from outside sources and are shown as a convenience; check them before you rely on them.

Publishing with Camena Letters

• Only send your newsletter to people who signed up for it or otherwise agreed to hear from you, and follow the email laws that apply to you, including putting your real contact details in each issue where required.
• You keep your subscriber list. You can export it, and we won’t email your subscribers for our own purposes.
• Paid plans are billed through Stripe at the price shown when you subscribe, renew until you cancel, and can be canceled any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you’ve paid for. We’ll tell you before prices change.
• AI writing help suggests drafts and edits. You decide what to send, and you’re responsible for checking it.

Your content

You own what you create and upload. You give Camena permission to store, copy, display and send it, only as needed to run Camena for you and the people you share it with (for example, to show your invite to your guests or send your newsletter to your subscribers). That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups or already sent emails.

Only post content you have the right to share. If you believe something on Camena infringes your copyright, email us with the details and we’ll look into it.

Things you can’t do

• Break the law, or help anyone else break it.
• Send spam, harass or threaten anyone, or post hateful, sexually explicit or violent content.
• Pretend to be someone else, or collect other people’s information without their permission.
• Try to get into accounts or data that aren’t yours, interfere with Camena or overload it, or use automated tools to scrape it.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

Camena itself

Camena’s software, design, names and logos belong to us. These terms don’t give you rights to them beyond using Camena as intended. We may change, add or remove features. If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything.

Ending your use

You can stop using Camena and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we’re required to by law, or if we stop offering Camena, and we’ll give you notice and a chance to export your content when we reasonably can.

Disclaimers

Camena is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including that Camena will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, and that emails will always be delivered.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, Camena won’t be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim about Camena is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

If someone makes a claim about your content

If a claim is brought against Camena because of your content or your breaking these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it, to the extent the law allows.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, please email us so we can try to resolve it informally. Any court case will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it there.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we’ll tell you in Camena or by email before it takes effect. Using Camena after that means you accept the new terms.
