Party guide

A Brunch

The easiest party there is, because the night before does all the work. Two casseroles assembled ahead, cinnamon rolls rising in the fridge, a mimosa bar and a pot of coffee.

Host tip: Start the coffee and set out the mimosa bar before anyone arrives, so guests have a drink in hand as soon as they walk in.

Drinks and ice

  • A mimosa bar: bubbly plus orange, grapefruit and peach juice (see cocktail cards)
  • Bloody Marys: recipe
  • A coffee bar with cold brew, syrups and cream

Frozen fruit in the glass

Frozen grapes, berries and peach slices keep mimosas cold without watering them down. For iced coffee, freeze coffee in an ice tray the night before.

Make ahead

  1. 2 days before: Make the coffee ice cubes. Buy the bubbly and chill it.
  2. The night before: Assemble both casseroles and refrigerate. Make the cinnamon rolls and let them rise in the fridge. Set the table and the coffee station.
  3. Morning of, 90 minutes out: Cinnamon rolls out to finish rising.
  4. 1 hour out: Both casseroles into the oven. Cut the fruit.
  5. When guests arrive: Cinnamon rolls in, coffee brewing, juices out.
