Bridal shower countdown checklist

Usually 2 to 3 months before the wedding. The bride's mom and the wedding party often co-host, so split jobs early.

10 weeks out

Agree on co-hosts, budget and who pays for what
Get the guest list from the bride (everyone invited should also be invited to the wedding)
Book the venue or confirm whose home

8 weeks out

Send the invite with the registry and an RSVP date two weeks before
Pick a theme if you want one (garden party, brunch, recipe shower)

4 weeks out

Plan the menu and a signature drink
Order decorations, favors and supplies for a game or two
Ask guests for a recipe card or advice card if you're doing one

2 weeks out

Confirm the headcount and seating
Plan the run of show: arrive, eat, game, gifts, toast

1 day out

Prep food and set up
Assign a friend to log gifts and one to collect ribbons for the bouquet

Day of

Have a seat ready for the bride where everyone can see the gifts
Pack gifts into her car at the end

After

Send her the gift list and the photos
